Mithraism was a mystery religion that flourished in the Roman Empire from about the 1st to the 4th century CE. Though the religion is no longer practiced, the word "mithraistic" can still be used to describe things related to Mithraism. However, there are other terms that can be used as synonyms for the word "mithraistic" such as "Mithraic", "Mithriac", or "Mithraite". These words all refer to the same religion that worshipped the god Mithras, and can be used interchangeably. Some people may also use the term "Mithras cult" to refer to the religious practices of Mithraism.
