The National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP), also known as the Nazi Party, is a political party that was founded in Germany in 1919. The party's ideology was based on fascism, anti-Semitism, and German nationalism. The NSDAP promoted white supremacy, racial purity, and the superiority of the Aryan race. The party was headed by Adolf Hitler, who became chancellor of Germany in 1933 and later led the country into World War II. Other synonyms for the NSDAP include the German Workers' Party (DAP), the Brownshirts, and the Third Reich party. Despite being banned after World War II, neo-Nazi organizations still exist today.
