Neo-Marxism is a term coined to describe an updated version of classical Marxism with a greater emphasis on cultural and social factors. However, there are also other synonyms commonly used to describe this political philosophy. Some of these synonyms include Critical Theory, Post-Marxism, Socialist Feminism, and Frankfurt School. Each of these terms describes slightly different schools of thought within the Neo-Marxist movement, with Critical Theory being more focused on cultural critique and analysis, while Socialist Feminism emphasizing the intersection of gender and class oppression. The Frankfurt School, on the other hand, is a group of intellectuals that developed the critical theory of social science, which is still relevant today in the study of media and culture.
