Parsi is a term used to refer to one of the two largest communities of the Zoroastrian religion in the Indian subcontinent. The term is predominantly used in India and Pakistan, and because of this, there are not many synonyms for the word. However, some communities refer to Parsis as "Persians," which is technically inaccurate but was historically used because of the previous Persian domination of the region. Other terms used to refer to Parsis are "Zoroastrian" and "Irani," but these are not exclusive to the Parsi community and can refer to anyone practicing the Zoroastrian religion or from Iran, respectively.
