Pieris floribunda, also known as mountain fetterbush, is a species of shrub in the erythroxyloideae family that is native to the southeastern United States. It produces an abundance of small, fragrant, white or pink flowers that bloom in clusters in early spring. Because of its unique characteristics, it goes by several other names, including mountain andromeda, fragrant pieris, and evergreen pieris. Some less commonly used synonyms for Pieris floribunda include tough fetterbush, Oxydendrum floribundum, and Leucothoe floribunda. Regardless of the moniker, this shrub is prized for its low maintenance and the beauty it brings to any landscape.
