Plagianthus Regius, commonly known as Ribbonwood is an evergreen tree species found in New Zealand. It has a softwood texture, greyish-brown bark and narrow needle-like leaves that are silver-green on the underside. Although it is commonly referred to as Ribbonwood, it has several other synonyms including Hymenanthera crassifolia, Hymenanthera odorata, Plagianthus betulinus, and Plagianthus divaricatus. The Maori people call it "manatu" and use its bark for various traditional remedies. Plagianthus Regius is a popular ornamental tree due to its striking appearance and adaptability to various climate conditions. It is a fast-growing tree that can reach up to 30 meters tall, making it an ideal species for reforestation projects.
