The psychogalvanic reflex, also known as the skin conductance response or electrodermal activity, is a measure of the changes in the electrical conductance of the skin that occur in response to emotional or physiologic arousal. While there are many synonyms for psychogalvanic reflex, such as electrodermal response, electrodermal activity, skin conductance response, and galvanic skin response, there are no true antonyms for this term. However, some related terms that contrast with psychogalvanic reflex might include states of calmness, relaxation, and tranquility, which are associated with reduced arousal and decreased skin conductance. Conversely, terms such as agitation, arousal, and emotional excitement would be more closely related to psychogalvanic reflex.
