The Pygmy killer whale (Feresa attenuata) is a fleet oceanic species that has a compact, dark body and a broad, slightly slanted head. This species of whale can grow up to 2.6 meters in length and can weigh up to 400 kilograms. The Pygmy killer whale is also known by a few other names, including the Lesser killer whale, Slender killer whale, and Blackfish. These synonyms are used to distinguish the Pygmy killer whale from other killer whale species that are larger and more aggressive. Despite being called a "killer whale," the Pygmy killer whale is not known for attacking humans and feeds mainly on squid, fish, and shrimp.
