Reidite is a relatively unknown mineral and thus, synonyms for it are rare. However, some terms may refer to it indirectly. For instance, as reidite is formed by shock metamorphism, other minerals that are formed in the same way could be considered synonyms. These minerals include stishovite and coesite. Additionally, the crystal structure of reidite is identical to that of zircon, so some might consider these two minerals to be synonyms. Another term that has been used in reference to reidite is "acquired reidite," which may refer to reidite that is created through artificial means, rather than occurring naturally. Despite the limited number of synonyms available, reidite remains an intriguing and important mineral.
