River Cocytus is a mythological river in Greek and Roman mythology. It is also called the "River of Lamentation", as it was believed to be the place where souls who were unable to find peace after death would dwell. In terms of synonyms, River Cocytus can also be referred to as the "River of Wailing" or the "River of Mourning". Other similar expressions include "The River of Tears", "The River of Sorrow" and "The River of Disappointment". All of these synonyms reflect the idea that the river is a place of sadness, loss and despair, and that those who find themselves there are in a state of eternal suffering.
