The Rixdollar was a currency used in colonial Dutch East Indies, which is now known as Indonesia. This now-defunct currency had some synonyms that have been used over the years. One of the synonyms was the Dutch guilder, as the Dutch influence was prevalent in Indonesia. Another synonym for the Rixdollar was the Java rix dollar, as the currency was primarily used on the island of Java. Additionally, the silver rix dollar or simply silver rix was also used to refer to this currency, as it was originally made of silver. Lastly, the terms Rijksdaalder and rijks dollar were also used interchangeably with Rixdollar in some areas.
