SAMR is an acronym for a model of technology integration in education. However, it is important to have a variety of synonyms and similar terms to help educators understand the concept even better. Some possible synonyms for SAMR include tech integration, digital learning, blended learning, and the 4C's (communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity). Additionally, other related terms that can aid in understanding SAMR are TPACK (technological pedagogical content knowledge), RAT (replacement, augmentation, transformation), and the Triple E Framework (engagement, enhancement, extension). Regardless of the terminology used, the key for educators is to be able to effectively use technology to enhance teaching and learning.
