"Sent gallows" is a phrase commonly used to refer to the act of someone being sentenced to execution by hanging. However, there are several synonyms for "sent gallows" which can be used interchangeably to convey the same meaning. Some of these synonyms include "condemned to the noose", "sent to the scaffold", "sentenced to the hangman's noose", "sentenced to the gallows" and "judged to be hanged". These synonyms are often used in historical literature to describe the barbaric practice of capital punishment that was common in the past. Today, however, the use of the death penalty has declined significantly in many parts of the world, and alternative forms of punishment have been adopted.
