Shins refer to the front part of the lower leg, located between the knee and the ankle joints. Several synonyms used for shins include tibias, lower legs, calves, and legs. Tibias are a part of the body that forms the lower aspect of the knee joint and the higher part of the ankle joint. The calves are the fleshy rear part of the leg below the knee. Legs represent the part of the body extending from the groin to the ankle or foot, including the thigh, knee, and shank. In short, shins are one of the body parts we use the most and the various synonyms for them allow for diversity in how we describe them.
