Sicer is an archaic term used to describe a strong alcoholic beverage, particularly one made from apples. Nowadays, the term is rarely used and has been replaced by other more commonly used synonyms such as cider, hard cider, or apple wine. These synonyms are a much better reflection of the modern use of the beverage. There are also other words that can be used to describe alcoholic beverages made from different fruits, such as perry, made from pears; mead, made from honey; or fruit wine, made from various kinds of fruit. These synonyms reflect the wide range of fermented beverages available today, each with its own unique flavor and history.
