Sinus bradycardia refers to a condition where the heart's normal rhythm is slower than usual. Other synonyms for this condition include sinus arrhythmia, which is a variation in the heart's normal rhythm, as well as sinus pause, which refers to an interruption in the heart's normal beating pattern. Other terms that may be used include bradyarrhythmia, which combines the words bradycardia and arrhythmia, or sinoatrial (SA) node dysfunction, which is a malfunction of the SA node, the natural pacemaker of the heart. Regardless of the terminology used, sinus bradycardia requires attention, as it may lead to fainting, shortness of breath, or other serious complications if left untreated.
