Sociobiologists are scientists who study the biological and genetic basis of social behavior in animals, including humans. However, there are several other terms that can be used to refer to these scientists. The term "evolutionary biologists" may be used to describe those who study the evolution of social behavior. Zoologists, particularly those who specialize in animal behavior, may also conduct research in this area. Ethologists are another group of scientists who study animal behavior, including social behavior. Finally, those who study the genetics and genomics of behavior may be referred to as behavioral geneticists. Regardless of the term used, all of these scientists aim to understand how biology shapes social behavior.
