Stray cats are felines that have wandered away from their homes and are typically found living on the streets. There are many synonyms for the term 'stray cats' including feral cats, homeless cats or alley cats. Feral cats specifically refer to cats that have never been socialized with humans and are therefore difficult to tame. Homeless cats on the other hand, could include any cat who has been abandoned or lost and is now living outside and without a home. Alley cats are a similar synonym and generally refer to cats that are found in urban areas and alleyways, roaming the streets and surviving on their own.
