A suit of armor, also known as a suit of plate armor, refers to a type of protective clothing worn by knights in medieval times. It was designed to protect the wearer from sharp objects, such as swords and arrows, during battle. Though the term "suit of armor" is most commonly used, there are various synonyms for it, such as a coat of armor, a suit of mail, or a panoply. Additionally, other synonyms for armor itself include body armor, bulletproof vest, and protective gear. Despite the different names, they all serve the same purpose of providing protection to the wearer.
