Telepsychiatry is a growing field that allows psychiatrists to conduct patient evaluations and treatment remotely through video conferencing. With the rise of telehealth technologies, the term "telepsychiatrist" has become more widely used. However, there are several synonyms that can be used to refer to a psychiatrist who provides care remotely. These include virtual psychiatrist, e-psychiatrist, online psychiatrist, remote psychiatrist, telehealth psychiatrist, and telemedicine psychiatrist. No matter what term is used, the advantages of telepsychiatry can not be denied providing access to mental health care to patients who do not have easy access to in-person mental health services.
