Tetrahedrite is a mineral of copper, antimony, and sulfur formula, Cu12Sb4S13. It can also go by a number of alternate names, depending on where it's found and variations in its composition. Some of the more common synonyms for tetrahedrite include: gray copper, antimonite, freibergite, pilsenite, and tennantite. Generally speaking, these alternate names refer to particular types of tetrahedrite that may be found in specific regions or have unique characteristics. While the name may differ, however, all variations of tetrahedrite share the same basic chemical structure and properties.
