The phrase "the Only Begotten" is often used to describe Jesus Christ as the unique and only Son of God. But there are several synonyms that can be used in its place. Some of these include "the Incarnate Word," "the Savior," "the Redeemer," "the Messiah," "the Son of Man," and "the Lamb of God." Each of these synonyms emphasizes a different aspect of Jesus' role and identity, from his divinity and humanity to his sacrificial death and ultimate victory over sin and death. Regardless of the specific terminology used, however, the centrality of Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of the world remains constant.
