The Togo Franc is the official currency of Togo. It was introduced in 1973, replacing the West African CFA Franc. The Togo Franc is one of eight currencies that use the West African CFA Franc as their official currency. While there are no direct synonyms for the Togo Franc, it is often referred to simply as the "Franc" or the "West African Franc." Other West African countries that use the same currency include Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, and Senegal. In general, the West African CFA Franc is denoted by the symbol XOF and is pegged to the euro.
