Ulmus Hollandica, also known as the Dutch Elm, is a popular tree species that is valued for its ornamental and shade-providing qualities. It belongs to the Elm family of trees, and is native to Europe. Though it is often referred to as the Dutch Elm, this tree species has many other synonyms, including the Smooth-leaved Elm, Narrow-leaved Elm, and English Elm. In different regions, it may also be referred to as the French Elm, Scotch Elm, or Jersey Elm. Despite its numerous names, all of these synonyms refer to the same tree species that is prized for its attractive foliage and stately appearance.
