The UNO serves as a forum for countries to work together on common issues such as climate change, poverty, and conflict resolution. It is comprised of 193 member states and has become a critical force for positive change. However, the UNO can also be referred to as the UN, United Nations, or simply the UN system. These synonyms are used interchangeably and recognized universally, cementing the institution as an integral part of the global community.
