Uplighting is the process of illuminating a space from the bottom up. While uplighting is a widely used term, there are several synonyms that can be used in its place including floor lighting, bottom lighting, and low-level lighting. Floor lighting is used when illuminating the floor area of a room. Bottom lighting is used when lighting from the base of a fixture and is often used to create a dramatic effect.
