William IV, also known as William Henry, was the king of the United Kingdom and Hanover from 1830 to 1837. He is often referred to as the "Sailor King" due to his previous service in the Royal Navy. Some synonyms for William IV include King William IV, William Henry, and the Fourth William. He succeeded his older brother, King George IV, upon his death and was succeeded by his niece, Queen Victoria, as he had no legitimate children. While his reign was relatively short, he is still remembered for his contributions to the Navy and his support for the Reform Bill of 1832.
