Wobblies is a colloquial term for members of the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), a labor union established in 1905. There are several synonyms for this term based on the IWW's radical and leftist ideologies. Some of the most commonly used synonyms include "The One Big Union," "Reds," "Socialists," "Communists," "Anarchists," "Radicals" and "Revolutionaries." These words reflect the organization's commitment to promoting worker solidarity and opposition to traditional capitalist economic systems. Although the IWW's membership has dwindled since its peak in the early 20th century, the term "Wobblies" and its associated synonyms continue to be used by activists and scholars today when discussing labor movements and social justice issues.
