Wych-elm, or Ulmus glabra, is a tree that is native to Europe and Western Asia. It is commonly known by different names, depending on the region. In the United Kingdom, wych-elm is also referred to as Scotch elm, while in Scotland, it is known as the mountain elm. In addition, some people refer to it as the Scots elm, the witch elm, or even the hazel elm. Nonetheless, regardless of the name, the wych-elm is a strong and beautiful tree that is often used in landscaping and in the manufacture of furniture and decorative items.
