The Arabian Sea is a body of water located between the Arabian Peninsula and the Indian subcontinent. It is also known by several other names including the Sea of Oman, the Persian Sea, and the Erythraean Sea. The term Arabian Gulf is also used to refer to the northern area of the sea, although this name is disputed by Iran which calls it the Persian Gulf. The Arabian Sea is known for being an important trade route connecting the East and the West. It is also a popular destination for marine tourism, with plenty of opportunities for diving, snorkeling, and other water-based activities.
