The Atlantic Spiny Dogfish, also known as the Spurdog, is a species of small shark found throughout the Atlantic Ocean. This predatory fish is known for its spiny dorsal fin and its tough, dog-like skin. Although it is commonly referred to as the Atlantic Spiny Dogfish, it also goes by a variety of other names, such as the Cape Shark, the Thorny Dogfish, and the Piked Dogfish.
