Auricular muscles are a set of small muscles located around the ear, and are responsible for moving the ears in different directions. Some common synonyms for auricular muscle are ear muscle, auriculomotor muscle, and ear flap muscle. The ear muscle is a general term for all of the muscles that are involved in moving the ears, whereas the auriculomotor muscle and ear flap muscle specifically refer to muscles responsible for moving the ear flap. Other synonyms for auricular muscle include auricularis muscle and ear pinna muscle. Despite the different names, these muscles all work together to help us hear, balance and move our ears.
