The Bosporus Bridge, also known as the Istanbul Strait Bridge or simply the Bosphorus crossing, connects the European and Asian sides of Istanbul, Turkey. As it is a prominent landmark and engineering feat, there are several synonyms and related phrases used to describe it. A few of these include the Bosporus Bridge 1 and 2 (referring to the first and second bridges constructed), the 15 July Martyrs Bridge (renamed in honor of those who lost their lives during the 2016 Turkish coup attempt), and the Istanbul Bridge. Additionally, it is sometimes referred to as the Intercontinental Bridge due to its connection between two continents.
