Broca's convolution is a part of the brain responsible for speech production. It is located in the frontal lobe of the brain and is also known as Broca's area. Other synonyms for Broca's convolution include the Brodmann area 44, the posterior part of the inferior frontal gyrus, and opercular part of the inferior frontal gyrus. Additionally, it is also referred to as the motor speech center, expressive language center, and speech production region. This region of the brain plays a critical role in allowing individuals to produce articulate speech, and without it, individuals may experience difficulty forming or articulating words and sentences.
