" Cape Dutch" is a term used for the architectural style which is mainly found in Cape Town's neighborhoods. It is popularly known for its impressive gables, whitewashed walls, and thatch roofs which give an appearance of the Dutch homes of the 17th century. This architectural style is also known as Cape Dutch Revival, Cape Dutch Cottage, or Dutch Colonial Revival Style. The Cape Dutch style has been adapted to create a unique blend of traditional Dutch style with local building materials.
