Dusicyon, also known as the Falkland Islands Wolf, is an extinct species of canid. Synonyms for this species include Warrah, Antarctic Wolf, or Falkland Islands Fox. The name "Warrah" refers to the sound of the wolf's bark, whereas the name "Antarctic Wolf" is a misnomer since these wolves were only found in the Falkland Islands, and not the actual Antarctic region. "Falkland Islands Fox" is another name given to the dusicyon due to its fox-like appearance, despite being a canid. Whatever the name, it is unfortunate that this unique species is no longer around for us to study and appreciate.
