DV, short for domestic violence, is a term used to describe violent or aggressive behavior that takes place in a domestic setting. Unfortunately, DV is an all-too-common issue that affects people of all genders and backgrounds. Fortunately, there are several synonyms for DV that can highlight the different forms of violence that can occur in domestic situations. These include intimate partner violence, spousal abuse, family violence, and relationship violence. Regardless of the term used, it is important to recognize the severity and impact of DV and work towards preventing it in our communities.
