Eudyptes is a genus of penguin that includes several different species. Although there are not many common synonyms for this particular word, there are several words that can be used to describe or refer to these types of penguins. For example, all of the species in the Eudyptes genus are known as crested penguins, due to the distinctive feather tufts on their heads. Several of the species within this genus are known by specific names, such as the rockhopper penguin (Eudyptes chrysocome) or the Fiordland penguin (Eudyptes pachyrhynchus).
