The European Viper, also known as the Common Adder, has a distinct appearance with its zigzag patterning on its back. However, it also has many other synonyms depending on the region where it is found. In the UK, it is referred to as the Northern Viper or Highland Adder. In Germany, it is known as Kreuzotter, while in France, it is called Vipere Aspic. Dutch people call it Adder, Italian people know it as Vipera, and in Finnish, it is referred to as Ruskovippa. Despite the various names, the venomous snake has a widespread distribution throughout Europe, inhabiting a variety of habitats such as meadows, forests, and rocky areas.
