The Fahrenheit scale is a temperature measurement system used in the United States, the Bahamas, Belize, and some of the Caribbean islands. Due to its widespread use, the Fahrenheit scale is known by many names. It is also referred to as the Fahrenheit temperature scale, F scale, and Fahrenheit degree. Additionally, it is often shortened to simply "degrees Fahrenheit." Some people also refer to it as the Imperial scale, as it was the primary temperature scale used in the British Empire for many years. Regardless of what it is called, the Fahrenheit scale measures temperature based on the freezing and boiling points of water, with 32°F being the freezing point and 212°F being the boiling point.
