Family Ochotonidae refers to a group of lagomorph mammals commonly called pikas. These small mammals are characterised by their round ears and short limbs, and are typically found in rocky mountainous terrain across North America and Asia. The Family Ochotonidae contains just one genus, Ochotona, which includes around 30 different species of pikas. Some commonly used synonyms for the Family Ochotonidae include the Ochotonids, the Pika family, or simply the Pikas.
