Synonyms for the Family Tiliaceae include the Malvaceae family, which includes hibiscus and cotton plants; the Bombacaceae family, which includes the baobab tree; and the Sterculiaceae family, which includes cacao and cola nut plants. These families share similarities in their flower and fruit characteristics, with many species producing large showy blooms and edible fruits.
