A fusion reactor, also known as a thermonuclear reactor, is a device that utilizes nuclear fusion to generate power. The term "fusion reactor" is most commonly used, however, there are a few other terms to describe this technology. It can also be referred to as a plasma reactor, fusion power device, fusion energy generator, or simply as a fusion plant. Some scientists also use the term "artificial sun" to describe the potential of a nuclear fusion device, due to the fact that it mimics the fusion process of the natural sun. While the terminology may differ, the fundamental purpose of a fusion reactor remains the same.
