Gemsbuck, also known as the South African oryx or the Oryx gazella, is a large antelope species native to Southern Africa. There are a few other common names for this majestic animal, such as the beisa oryx and the scimitar-horned oryx. The gemsbuck is known for its striking appearance with long, straight horns and distinct black and white facial markings. Some other synonyms for the gemsbuck may include the sabre antelope, the East African oryx, or the Arabian oryx.
