Hypoglycemia is a condition that occurs when the blood glucose levels drop below normal. There are several different synonyms for hypoglycaemic, including low blood sugar, insulin reaction, and insulin shock. Other terms that are used include blood glucose deficit, sugar swoon, and neuroglucopenia. In addition, low blood glucose is sometimes referred to as hypoglycemic syndrome, while insulin deficiency is sometimes referred to as hypoinsulinemia. Regardless of the term used, it is important for individuals with diabetes to be aware of the symptoms and to take steps to prevent hypoglycemia, such as monitoring blood sugar levels regularly, eating at regular intervals, and being aware of the signs of low blood sugar.
