At ithaca and in the mountains of North Carolina I have found both forms appearing at the same season, and thus far have been unable to detect the differences noted by Plowright in the volva.

It has been found on several occasions during late autumn at ithaca, N. Y., on the ground in open woods, during wet weather.

In one case which I investigated near ithaca, N. Y., the contamination was manifestly from a spring which oozed out of a bank of black-muck soil and stood in pools mixed with the dejections of the animals.
