Being a vibrant, diverse and cultural hub, Kadikoy is also known for its fascinating and historic landmarks, such as the Haydarpasa Terminal, Moda Pier, Baris Manco Cultural Center and the Kadikoy Park. Kadikoy is a Turkish word that is used to refer to the region, and it has no synonyms in the English language. However, the district is also known as Kuzguncuk among locals, which is a neighboring area. Some people also refer to Kadikoy as the Asian Side of Istanbul, due to its location on the Asian continent.
