The lesser whitethroat is a small passerine bird which belongs to the family of warblers. Also known by its scientific name, Curruca curruca, it is a migratory species found across Europe, Asia, and North Africa. The Lesser Whitethroat is also referred to as the smaller reed-warbler, and is often confused with the common whitethroat, which is slightly larger. Its other synonyms include Barred Whitethroat, Bonelli's Warbler, Black-headed Whitethroat, Garden Warbler and the Willow Warbler.
