Limnocryptes Minima, commonly known as the dusky moorhen or little crake, belongs to the family Rallidae. This bird species is native to Eurasia and parts of Africa. Its name is derived from the Greek word 'limno' meaning marsh or lake, and 'kryptos' meaning secret or hidden. Synonyms for the dusky moorhen include the lesser moorhen, little waterhen, small crake, and pigmy gallinule. Although small in size, these birds are known for their impressive swimming and diving skills.
