Limnodromus Griseus is a bird species also known by a number of different common names. Some of the synonyms for this bird are the Short-billed dowitcher, Redbacked dowitcher, Gray dowitcher, American dowitcher, and Graybird dowitcher. Despite the different names given to this species, there is no actual difference between them. The Limnodromus Griseus is a medium-sized migratory bird that is often seen in marshes, mudflats, and sometimes coastal beaches. It has a long, curved bill that it uses to probe in the mud for food. Though its breeding ground is in the far north, it can be found throughout much of North and South America during the migration period.
